NAD Seeks Full-Time Accountant

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) seeks an Accountant to maintain timely and accurate financial records for its Described Captioned Media Program (DCMP) in accordance with standard fiscal practices and requirements of funders. This position reports to the Director of Finance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: process Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables, ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly DCMP vouchers and expenditure justifications, prepare DCMP program budgets/modifications in a timely manner with program management, process daily income for proper deposit, track and report individual program and expenditures and income, assist Director of Finance in preparation of annual auditing process, and other duties as assigned. Note: This position is funded by a five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • 2-4 years of Accounting experience
  • Non-profit experience preferred
  • Ability to be flexible and to adjust work schedule to reflect varying accounting deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Pro
  • ASL proficiency
  • English proficiency – reading and written
