NAD Welcomes New Staff

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) is thrilled to bring in two extraordinary people to the NAD, Kim Bianco Majeri and Jazzy Jones.  The two fill positions that address specific areas of need for the NAD Headquarters and both have already hit the ground running at full speed!

As the State Legislative Affairs Coordinator, Kim will work closely with all State Associations of the Deaf to monitor ongoing legislation each year for any bills that might affect the rights of deaf and hard of hearing individuals. In addition, Kim is readily available on a fee for service basis to any State Association and affiliate to provide legislative advocacy training as well as consulting on state legislative efforts.  She holds an M.B.A. degree from North Park University with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management and a master’s degree from New York University. With this education and over 20 years of experience in nonprofit and corporate settings, advocacy has always been a core principle of her work. Recent events have revealed the need to increase legislative advocacy skills within our community especially with respect to educating legislative officials on the needs and rights of deaf and hard of hearing adults and children.  Kim is excited to fill this role of State Legislative Affairs Coordinator with the NAD and work with all states!

Jazzy is the NAD’s Communication Specialist.  In addition to filling in on responding to calls and emails at the NAD Headquarters’ front desk, she will also manage all social media accounts for the NAD while working closely with the Director of Communications on other communication responsibilities.  Jazzy’s deep-seated passion for all things social began with online storytelling. Her love for travel put her in the business of blogging. After sharing her experiences as an airline employee and travel agent, she set her sights higher and explored deeper which resulted in her endeavor through Travel Jonez. Currently residing in D.C., the New Yorker by birth earned her bachelor’s degree in business and communications from Rochester Institute of Technology and has been effectively communicating the plans and strategies of company brands such as Chevrolet, Keurig, and Bialetti.  Jazzy specializes in digital communication, event planning, and project management. Jazzy is looking forward to bringing her dazzling skill set to the NAD.

The NAD Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Howard A. Rosenblum shares his excitement, “The NAD faces much work and many challenges with very little time to accomplish everything, and we are thrilled to have Kim and Jazzy on our team to elevate the NAD to new heights.”

Please join us in welcoming Kim and Jazzy to the NAD!
