Opening Ceremony

Join us in San Francisco for the Opening Ceremony of the 58th Biennial National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Conference on July 1, 2026. The ceremony will feature trailblazing advocates Sheri Ann Farinha, CEO of NorCal Services for Deaf & Hard of Hearing, and Andrew J. “Andy” Imparato, Chief Executive Officer of Disability Rights California. Together, they will present the keynote “The Way Forward,” launching the conference week with a powerful conversation on leadership, advocacy, and the future of Deaf and disability rights. Fred Michael Beam, acclaimed performing artist, actor, and visual storyteller, will render the National Anthem in American Sign Language. Go here for bio information.
Cultural Extravaganza

At the 58th Biennial National Association of the Deaf Conference in San Francisco, join us for two signature events you won’t want to miss. On July 2, the Cultural Extravaganza will showcase the creativity and diversity of Deaf culture through powerful performances and storytelling. Then on July 4, we’ll come together one last time for the Conference Bash/Closing Celebration—an evening to gather and enjoy great entertainment together. With JAC bringing energy and passion to both events, you’ll be part of an overall experience you won’t forget. Go here for bio information.
College Bowl Competition
This event is one of the most anticipated traditions at biennial NAD Conferences. This year, student teams from Gallaudet University and National Technical Institute for the Deaf/RIT will bring their knowledge, teamwork, and school spirit to the stage in a fast-paced competition that celebrates academic excellence, Deaf history, culture, leadership, and community pride. Come cheer on the next generation of Deaf leaders as they compete, connect, and shine at #NAD2026.
